Type Design and Sculpture.
Over the last 10 years the government of Venezuela has increasingly become violent towards its opposition, one of the ways it has created fear is by jailing political dissidents even for innocuous things as tweeting against the president.
Trying to find a way to express visually the constrains of freedom and at the same support protests we came up with the use of 3D printing and laser cutting to create a type that could be not only used for posters and artworks but as a protest prop itself. Later on a website was conceptualized to allow for people to donate towards Foro Penal, a pro-bono lawyer group that defends political prisoners.
This project was conceptualized with Andrea Molero and Daniel Broad as a part of our Briefpirates initiative.
